I am a traditional artist/ designer and writer living and working in the South west Uk. I have a cartooning diploma from the London Art College, have studied Art & design at the Somerset college of Arts & technology & have gained a BA Hons degree in Animation at the University West of England in Bristol.
I have mainly lived in the South West of England although when I was 4 my family moved to the highlands of Scotland, moving back down to the South when I was around 7 years old to be nearer to family.

I am mainly known for my illustrative 'Gutterman styled' paintings, the creation of which began after I finished my Animation degree. I was busily sketching all sorts of things and came up with a character with a top hat, a heavy coat and big black boots. I drew him stood in the rain, under a broken gutter that was pouring rain water down on to his top hat which dripped down in to a drain. My character 'The Gutterman' was born. From there I have created a series of paintings depicting my little Gutterman character and have exhibited paintings featuring him all over the South West.

Aside from my painting work I have volunteered at Animated Exeter festival assisting children with simple animations and story writing projects, taken part in the Exeter Crafts festival and am a member of the Artists Network.

I have designed greeting and business cards for local businesses, designed and created bespoke paintings for clients in the Uk, Jersey, Australia, USA and Norway. My biggest painting project to date was designing and painting a 6ft by 4ft  welcome sign for a local animal sanctuary.
   
I still keep my hand in with my animation passion and enjoy working on animation projects including on my 'Slug bug' series of short animations. These shorts follow my two little alien characters as they explore and discover the wonders the Earth has to offer after unexpectantly crash landing on it.
I have recently taken part in creating a short documentary film promoting Bridgwater library and shown my short animated film title 'Time' at the Somerset film at the Engine room in Bridgwater.

Alongside my professional painting/design work I enjoy writing children stories, just for fun and my own amusement and have published my first book 'The Legacy and Rede's journey'. A second edition is currently in progress.
