The Crypt models & set

The Crypt set was made from various pieces of board and cardboard. Some scenes only required two pieces of wall depending on the set up and the camera placement.
After cutting to size I then added stonework texture before painting in acrylic paint and adding in those extra 3D features. I confess that I bought the ivy and roses but the rest of the set items I made myself.
The coffin was made from balsa wood and then painted. The rabbit slippers were made from foam board and carboard, with a pom pom ball for the fluff.
The bookcase, curtain, cobwebs, chandelier, table and mice were all made from found items.
Paint brush nib covers made excellent candles once painted, with an extra bit of melted wax to finish the effect.

Cheesey does it
Puppet making exercise for UWE.
These puppets were made out of a wire frame skeleton and then covered in clay. The Rat's eyes were made from wooden beads and the bugs arms and legs were from coloured wire. The cheese was simply made from cardboard and painted.

A set making exercise.
I wanted to see if I could build a set using tiny items but make the scene look like larger in scale.
The camp fire was added digitally afterwards to help with the scale. The stones were 2 to 3 centimetres in size.

The Gutterman model
(1st prototype)
Fully working Gutterman animation model.
The armature underneath was made with animation wire and polymorph. Then covered in clay for the details.
The changeable mouth pieces were made from polymer clay and then baked in the oven.

Dolls house re-design & adding the basement

I was given this fairly large dolls house by a very dear friend of mine some years ago now. I re-designed each room and added a rooftop garden.....because, well why not? :)
I was missing a kitchen and so have finally gotten around to adding one in in it's new basement.
It is still very much a work in progress. The main framework is made from foam board and cardboard. I have cut the paving slabs from mount board and am planning to paint them soon.

I plan to fit in the basement a kitchen, scullery, butlers room and a little outside courtyard area with coal shed and an outside loo.
I'm undecided as yet whether to add walls to the outside of the basement but will decide once the rooms are done.

Enjoying making all the food bits and bobs. these are made from air drying clay and then painted.
